In a world where couples find their wedding day inspiration by way of social media platforms, nudes and neutrals were the hot topic for years. You know what I am referring to… muted tones, dried blooms, pampas grass. Just type “boho wedding” in Google or on Pinterest. You won’t miss it!
While we encourage all of our couples to celebrate the wedding of their dreams (even if those dreams mean we are finding fluffs of pampas grass in our car for days or weeks after your wedding), we DO love working with some color. One of our most favorite things to do every year is learn of the newest Pantone Color of the Year. What is the Pantone Color of the Year, you ask? Well, let us tell you!
Every year, the world wide web shares a color for the year, and this color is seen everywhere – marketing, fashion, design, products, etc. It’s essentially a group of folks who suggest that this color will be the influential color of the year, and therefore it is! Media blows it up, business incorporate it in their marketing strategies, and business incorporate it in their products – all for the consumer. Ever wonder why each season has a popular color? It’s not because we are all magically on the same wavelength. It’s because we are all influenced by the Pantone Color of the Year! Similarly, couples planning their weddings might be inspired to utilize this color in their paper goods, floral design, table top design – anywhere that adding color would be appropriate!
For this client, we agreed to use 2023’s Pantone Color of the Year – Viva Magenta – in the flowers, as a pop of color in the napkin, and in the dessert! I personally love a bit of contrast, and through that the rich magenta color popped against the blacks and deep greys. This definitely left us feeling the modern, moody vibes. What do you think?
Stay tuned for our take on 2024’s Pantone color of the Year – “Peach Fuzz.”
